Meet ExxonMobil’s Singapore marine fuels sales team

ExxonMobil’s marine fuels sales team in Singapore is dedicated to helping customers navigate an energy transition towards a multi-fuel future by providing access to our integrated portfolio of marine solutions. The team supports international customers far beyond local waters, addressing evolving needs with high-quality marine fuels backed by technical expertise and reliable supply.
Ognjen Plakalovic serves as Head of Asia Pacific Aviation and Marine Fuels Sales, bringing a regional perspective to the Singapore operation and a wealth of experience from various roles at ExxonMobil over the past 13 years. His focus on business improvement and optimisation drives the team's collaborative approach to exploring emerging opportunities across the Asia Pacific region.
With more than 18 years of experience in the energy and maritime sectors, Kevin Shen serves as Business Venture Manager supporting ExxonMobil’s entry into the global LNG bunkering market. Kevin has played a leading role in developing projects focused on alternative fuels, including hydrogen (with ammonia as an energy carrier), advanced biofuels such as methanol and now LNG. He has worked closely with ExxonMobil’s customers to leverage emerging technologies and solutions that help navigate an energy transition towards lower greenhouse gas emissions.
The team also includes our international marine fuels sales managers, each bringing diverse experience and expertise to help deliver value-driven, customer-focused solutions to any challenge.
Beverly Tan joined the team over a year ago as International Marine Fuels Sales Manager and manages customers across Singapore, Taiwan and China. Beverly brings valuable expertise from her previous role in ExxonMobil’s Marine Lubricants and a strong commercial background in shipping and logistics that she now applies to deliver value-driven solutions in marine fuels. She brings rich maritime industry perspectives and a strong commercial mindset to every customer interaction.
Terry Tan, International Marine Fuels Sales Manager, brings a unique blend of technical and commercial expertise, having joined the team two years ago. His past roles as a mechanical engineer in global projects and in supply chain operations gives him a deep understanding of operational challenges, technical requirements, risk management and end-to-end value chain dynamics. Today, Terry leverages this diverse background combined with business acumen to deliver customer-driven solutions to help meet evolving needs.
The newest member of the team, Chong Zhi Yao, has supported customers in Singapore, Korea and Greece as International Marine Fuels Sales Manager since joining in October 2025. He has over a decade of experience in the chemical industry, where he held various commercial, supply chain and planning roles. His background in regional account management and sales planning, combined with a strong focus on data-driven insights and collaboration, equips him to deliver tailored solutions and help customers navigate the evolving marine fuels landscape.
